Now that we seem to have had our short fill of Space Engineers, is anyone intending to continue on the SE server much longer? If not, i'll stick a cork in it and save some pennies ready for 7Days Alpha 13. Opinions?

Once you get a welding craft made with the componants stored it becomes a lot easier to build things, at the same time i like the additional thought required. BUT, it's still to... dull?

I think it just needs some more optimization, and a "control" overhaul, because wheeled vehicles shouldn't handle like bricks of ice on a summer day

Sure is, but with Alpha 13 coming in the next few weeks we get UI overhaul among a heap of other stuff. Should be a nice solid build by the looks.

Oh god, that was A G E S back haha. Even still, Gmod is going to be short lived for most inc myself i think. Not enough has changed with it other than QOL stuff.

The server for me is frustrating, especially with everything still glitchy or broken left right and centre. I would rather to wait and let it be fixed (HA) before I started again.

yes, i will continue to host an SE server once muffin's shuts down as ill be hosting it from my home fiber, i expect load times will suffer a bit as my server rig only has 10K SAS HDD's as opposed to muffins server which has the magical SSD

With SE being how it is, the SAS drives should handle it quite well. Cpu is the issue currently with it.

Heaps, not sure what CPU was allocated to teh hosted one, but RAM was only at 3GB. SE would run much nicer with around 5 - 8 GB

Noticed when CPU bottle necks is when more of the random spaz attacks happen with ships. SE is still AMAZINGLY unoptimized

yeah IKR, still credit where credits due Keen have given themselves a big mountain to climb with all the constant new content basically breaking everything all over again every time. oh and the fact the managed to get the engine to deal with planets AT ALL is pretty impressive

In many ways, yes they have done well. But there are a few big things they simply never bothered to touch. Landing gears having a spazz and then exploding was a real problem in every multiplayer game, and it was in game for around 8 - 10 months.

its because their netcode is baised on Valves, not a written from scratch so its just not designed to deal with the MASSIVE amount of shit going on. Im sure they will fix it before release.

I wont believe that with Keen until i see how the Multiplayer Overhaul update is, which is meant to be soon (tm).
