The battle for geek supremecy continues

It's now been three days since the launch of Diablo III and, according to the gameplay stats here at The LANBox, quite a few of us have clocked up our fair share of hours despite the hick-ups. King of the Geeks - The Diablo 3 challenge begins

Last month I was presented with a prestigious award for dedication to the art of geekery because my boss learnt about how I'd just spent my weekend. A weekend chock-full of awesome things such as a two-night LAN party, floppy drive music and a trip to the Adelaide Showgrounds for Oz Comic Con. A new challenge has been issued - who between me and my workmate, Ryan, can get the furthest in Diablo 3 by Monday.

Let's face it unless you're the most hermit-like of EVE Online players, your journey as a pilot is going to be pretty boring unless you find a group of pilots with a common goal. This is where corporations come in. I've been in my fair share, all quite small, and some even of my own creation.

I've recently strayed away from the EVE universe, not because of any of CCP's wrongdoing but because I've become bored of who I am, for I am a care-bear. So my journey begins, a bold step out of the glowing night-light of high-sec into the depths of EVE - somewhere I haven't been since the days of Revelations.

nVidia announce GeForce GTX 690 - Fanboys rejoice

It seems the beastly GeForce GTX 680 was not quite beastly enough for the folks over at nVidia who announced the release of their new flagship card the GTX 690 this morning. As you would expect it's got all the power and shininess of two 680's mashed together into a very slick looking card. Similar to its main rival the AMD 7970 the 690 claims incredible power efficiency and blistering performance.
